 Dalian
is a beautiful coastal and harbor city with beautiful scenery and
comfortable climate. It is a city with good reputation at home and
abroad. Dalian Supply and Marketing Associated Cooperative (hereinafter
refer to Dalian S & M Associated Cooperative) is situated at
the southern part of People's Square, center of the city.
With the establishment of P.R.C., Dalian
S & M Associated Cooperative was established on Nov. 9, 1949,
which is the cooperative economic organization composed by the farmers
with shares to conduct self-operation, assume sole responsibility
for one's own profits and losses, have self- development and self-binding,
and it plays a role as bridge and belt on connecting production
and circulating, industry and agriculture, urban and village etc.
In the early stage of establishment, the S & M Associated Cooperatives
of whole country sticked to the tenet in hard conditions, and actively
served for the urban & town material exchange and made outstanding
contribution to promoting the recovery and development of agricultural
production, solidifying the industrial and agricultural union and
improving the urban & town people's living condition. Through
54 years' effort, especially after the third Plenary Session of
the 11th Party Congress, Dalian S & M Associated Cooperative
has been greatly developed in economy and it has been the large
economic union with large scale and powerful strength integrated
with trading & economy together.
Dalian S & M Associated Cooperative
is the collective owned cooperation economic organization, which
is responsible for organizing and guiding the farmers of the city
to develop the commodity economy under the authorization of municipal
government, promote the urban & town material exchange and serve
the farmer, countryside and agriculture. It performs the authorized
administration functions by government to the S & M Associated
Cooperative of urban and county, conducts industrial guidance and
the assets integration management to the subsidiaries.
Dalian S & M Associated Cooperative
has been sticking to reform and opening policy and has greatly developed
the economy of urban and town. It takes the advantages of sufficient
net points, wide range, etc. to develop multiple-operation and make
its economic strength constantly growing up. Now there are 8 direct
municipal subsidiaries, 7 subordinated S & M Associated Cooperatives
of city and county, 55 county subsidiaries, 122 S & M Cooperatives
at grass root level and 1366 commerce nets in the whole system with
totally RMB 1.8 billion assets and RMB 10 billion yearly total sales
amount.
Dalian S & M Associated Cooperative
keeps constantly innovating the new system and breaking through
the traditional operation scope, changing the operation mode, adjusting
the operation structure and further expanding the operation field.
Now it has 7 pillar industries and 4 growing systems of drink, fruit
& vegetable, agricultural material, warehouse, renewable resources,
fireworks & firecracker and decoration material, etc., i.e.
the commodity trade market growing system basing on a group of large
markets ; the urban & town business growing system focusing
on famous brands and main commercial wares; the warehousing trade
growing system basing on the warehouse facilities; involving in
agricultural industrialization thriving system focusing on agricultural
material supply and agricultural & non-staple products' merchandise.
Dalian S & M Associated Cooperative
has been sticking to serve agriculture and actively participating
the agricultural industrialization and utilizing its effective carrier
to guide the farmers into the large market so as to expediting the
circulating and enrich the farmers and revive the cooperatives.
Now there are accumulated 100 various professional cooperatives
in Dalian and their products involve in the fields of planting,
breeding and processing, etc. and the members of cooperatives are
nearly ten thousand. Dalian S & M Associated Cooperative has
been the indispensable part to support commodity production in the
rural area of Dalian, flourish urban & town economy, activate
urban & town market and participate the agricultural industrialization.
Dalian S & M Associated Cooperative fully takes its advantages
of port city and import & export independent managerial role
to greatly develop its foreign-oriented economy and it has primarily
formed all-round new opening foreign-oriented economy situation.
It has import & export business relation on food, oil, feedstuff,
edible oil and chemical industry products, etc., with USA, Japan,
Brazil, NZ, France, Hong Kong, Thailand, Taiwan, etc. Meanwhile,
it also establishes beverage, food, light industry and wood products
processing joint venture enterprises, etc. with 24 foreign enterprises
and gets outstanding profits. And the Coca Cola produced by joint
venture with KERRY BEVERAGES LIMITED has reached over 100 thousand
tons yearly yield and the sales income reached RMB 0.6 billion.
Though there are many gains, Dalian S &
M Associated Cooperative, still a long way to go, will stick to
the reform and opening policy as past and strengthen the foreign
communication, develop foreign-oriented economy so as to make new
contribution for serving farmers, revival of "the Old Northeast
Industrial Base" and accelerate the construction of "Large
Dalian" in the market economy trend. Meanwhile, it welcomes
the partners both from home and abroad to cooperate in import &
export trade, utilization of renewable resources, establishing the
third industry, aquatic products breeding & processing and agricultural
& non-staple products' business, etc. to create the bright future
